Algisite M – Calcium Alginate Dressing 15x15cm (3 Pieces)

The Algisite M dressing is designed for moderately to heavily exuding superficial or deep wounds with a tendency to hemorrhagic. It is ideal for pressure sores, leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, post-operative wounds, burns and malignant wounds.

This sterile dressing of pure calcium alginate offers a high absorption capacity, making it possible to reduce the frequency of dressing changes. It is also local hemostatic, facilitating the control of minor bleeding by releasing calcium ions (Ca++) on contact with blood.

Algisite M adapts perfectly to the different surfaces and depths of wounds, as well as to wounds that are anfractuous or difficult to access. It is very easy to apply and remove, without leaving any residue in the wound.

The rapid gelling properties of Algisite M create a moist environment favorable to debridement and healing, and can adsorb bacteria. It can be used on infected wounds, under medical supervision.

Contraindications

Do not use in patients with a known allergy to calcium alginates, particularly mannuronic acid.

Precautions for use

Single use. Make sure there is no gel pad left in deep wounds. Possibility of adhesion on poorly exuding wounds. Do not use if the individual sachet has been opened or damaged (loss of sterility guarantee).
