Biafine Emulsion for Cutaneous Application is a medication in the form of an emulsion for skin application, specially designed for erythema secondary to radiotherapy treatments, first and second degree burns and any other non-infected skin wound.
Instructions
- Erythema secondary to radiotherapy treatments
- First and second degree burns
- Any other non-infected skin wound
Contraindications
- Allergy to trolamine or any of the other ingredients
- Hemorrhagic wound (with bleeding)
- Infected lesion
Ingredients
Trolamine is the active substance in this medicine. Other ingredients include ethylene glycol stearate, stearic acid, cetyl palmitate, solid and liquid paraffin, perhydrosqualene, propylene glycol, avocado oil, trolamine sodium alginate, potassium sorbate, parahydroxybenzoate sodium methyl and sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate.
Tips for use
- Erythema secondary to radiotherapy treatments: 2 to 3 daily applications
- Second degree burns and other skin wounds: application in a thick layer after cleaning the wound
- First degree burns: application in a thick layer until the skin refuses
Precautions for use
- Do not use dry absorbent dressing
- Avoid skin irritation
- Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medicines
