Pharmacological Properties

• Pharmacotherapeutic group: Anthelmintics, quinoline derivatives and associated substances, praziquantel, combinations
• Pharmacodynamic properties: Praziquantel acts on cestodes, while pyrantel acts specifically on nematodes

Instructions

Drontal Chat Vermifuge is indicated for the curative treatment of mixed infestations by the following parasites:

• Adult gastrointestinal nematodes (Toxocara cati, Ancylostoma tubaeforme, Ancylostoma braziliense)
• Gastrointestinal cestodes (Echinococcus multilocularis, Dipylidium caninum, Hydatigera taeniaeformis, Mesocestoides spp, Joyeuxiella pasqualei)

Tips for Use

Administer 5 mg of praziquantel and 20 mg of pyrantel per kg of body weight, i.e. 1 tablet for 4 kg of body weight in a single dose. The tablets can be administered directly into the mouth or mixed with food.

Precautions for Use

• It is recommended to consult a specialized veterinarian or parasitology institutes if echinococcosis is diagnosed
• Mild and transient digestive or neurological disorders may occur in extremely rare cases
