Duphalac Isolactose 10g/15ml Oral Solution Sachets 20x15ml

Duphalac contains a laxative called isolactose, which makes stools soft and easier to pass by drawing water into the intestine. It is not absorbed into your body. This medicine comes in the form of a colorless to brownish yellow, viscous and clear oral solution in a 15 ml sachet.

Instructions

• Treatment of constipation (infrequent, hard, dry stools) by making stools soft
• Treatment of hepatic encephalopathy (a liver disease causing difficulty thinking, confusion, tremors, decreased level of consciousness up to coma)

Contraindications

• Allergy to the active substance or any of the other ingredients contained in this medicine
• Progressive or flare-up diseases of the intestine or colon, such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease
• Intestinal obstruction
• Digestive perforation or suspicion of perforation
• Abdominal pain (stomach pain) of undetermined cause

Active ingredients

The active substance is: isolactose 10 g in the form of liquid isolactose for a 15 ml sachet.

Tips for use

In case of constipation, take 1 to 3 sachets per day. For hepatic encephalopathy, the ideal dose is that which leads to two or three loose stools per day.

Precautions for use

Consult your doctor before taking Duphalac if you suffer from any medical conditions or illnesses, especially galactose intolerance, galactosemia, glucose or galactose malabsorption syndrome, Lapp lactase deficiency, fructose intolerance, diabetes.

Administration method

Take the doses every day, at the same times. The corner of the Duphalac sachet should be torn and the contents taken immediately. Swallow the medicine quickly, without keeping it in your mouth. Duphalac can be taken pure or diluted in a drink.
