Ethyl Esters of Omega-3 Acids EG 1 g soft capsule belongs to a class of drugs called to reduce cholesterol and triglycerides. This medication is used in the treatment of certain forms of hypertriglyceridemia (excessive amount of fats in the blood) when an adapted and diligent diet has proven insufficient.

Properties and Indications

Ethyl Esters of Omega-3 Acids EG contain purified polyunsaturated fatty acids from the Omega-3 series. Indications include the treatment of certain forms of hypertriglyceridemia. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to the active substance, peanut or soy.

Composition and Directions for Use

The composition includes 90% omega-3 fatty acid ethyl esters, including mainly 840 mg of ethyl esters, 1000 mg elcosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and 460 mg docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). The usual recommended dose is 2 capsules per day, taken with a glass of water, ideally with meals.
