Fluvermal is a medicine used to treat infestations by certain parasitic worms of the digestive tract, such as pinworm, roundworm, whipworm and hookworm. It is marketed by the Johnson & Johnson and is available in 100mg tablets.

Properties and Indications

Fluvermal contains the active substance flubendazole, which is effective against parasitic infestations of the digestive tract. It is indicated for the treatment of infestations by:

• Pinworm
• Ascaris
• Whipworm
• Hookworm

Tips for Use

The recommended dose is the same for children and adults. It depends on the infesting worm:

• Poxyride: 1 tablet as a single dose, to be repeated 15 to 20 days later
• Ascaris, trichocephalosis, hookworm: 1 tablet morning and evening for 3 days

Precautions for Use

Fluvermal is contraindicated in patients allergic to flubendazole or any of the other ingredients. It is not recommended in patients with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase/isomaltase deficiency. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking this medication.
