Properties and Indications

• Treats constipation by making stools soft and easier to pass

Contraindications

• Allergy to lactulose or any of the other ingredients
• Galactosemia, digestive tract obstruction or perforation, galactose or fructose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption

Dosage

• Constipation: 15 to 45ml per day for adults and adolescents, adjust the dose according to the response to treatment
• Hepatic encephalopathy: starting dose of 30 to 45 ml, 3 to 4 times per day, adjust to achieve 2 to 3 loose stools per day
