This medication is indicated for the treatment of varroosis caused by Varroa destructor mites sensitive to flumethrin in bees. Flumethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid ectoparasiticide that acts by interfering with the sodium channel in nerve cell membranes during excitation, which induces a prolonged succession of repetitive stimulations ultimately leading to the death of the parasite.

Properties and Indications

• Use: treatment of varroosis caused by Varroa destructor mites
• Contraindications: do not use during honey flow, in case of known resistance to pyrethroids or simultaneously with other acaricides against varroosis
• Active ingredients: 275 mg flumethrin per ribbon

Tips for Use

Use two ribbons per standard hive, to be placed at the entrance to the hive so that the bees can only enter or exit by passing through the holes in the ribbon. Treatment should begin shortly after honey flow and honey extraction, last at least 9 weeks, and be followed by a rotation of treatments to prevent the development of resistance.

Precautions for Use

• Ribbons must not be cut
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children
• Special precautions for each target species: treat all colonies in the same apiary simultaneously
• The product should be used as part of an integrated varroa control program
