Tardyferon 80mg Iron 30 Film-Coated Tablets

Tardyferon 80mg Iron is a medicine which provides an essential iron supplement to fight against iron deficiency anemia. It is recommended for adults and children over 6 years old, as well as for pregnant women who require an iron supplement to prevent deficiency during pregnancy.

Instructions

• Treatment of iron deficiency anemia
• Prevention of iron deficiency during pregnancy

Contraindications

• Allergy to iron or any component of the medication
• Iron overload (hemochromatosis, thalassemia, refractory anemia or bone marrow failure)

Ingredients

• Maltodextrin, microcrystalline cellulose, triethyl citrate, talc, ammoniomethacrylate copolymer type A (eudragit RL 30D) and type B (eudragit RS 30D), glycerol dibehenate
• Coating: titanium dioxide (E171), sepifilm LP010*, iron oxide yellow (E172), iron oxide red (E172), triethyl citrate

Tips for use

Take the tablets whole with water, before meals or during meals, depending on digestive tolerance. Do not suck, chew or keep the tablets in the mouth.

Precautions for use

• Do not take with medicines containing acetohydroxamic acid
• Separate administration of medications such as antibiotics, bisphosphonates, penicillamine, antacids, thyroxine, entacapone, methyldopa, levodopa, products containing zinc, calcium or strontium

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

This medicine will only be used during pregnancy if necessary on the advice of the doctor. The use of this medicine is possible in breastfeeding women.

Adverse effects

• Constipation, diarrhea, abdominal distension, abdominal pain, abnormal color of stools, nausea
• Swelling of the throat, abnormal stools, discomfort and pain in the upper abdomen, vomiting, acute inflammation of the stomach
