Reactine 10 mg, scored film-coated tablet is an anti-allergic medicine (antihistamine for systemic use) used to treat the symptoms of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria.
Instructions
- Treatment of nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis
- Treatment of symptoms of chronic urticaria (chronic idiopathic urticaria)
Contraindications
- Severe kidney disease (severe kidney failure)
- Allergy to cetirizine or any of the other ingredients
- Galactose intolerance, glucose or galactose malabsorption or total lactase deficiency
Ingredients
- Microcrystalline cellulose, lactose, macrogol 400, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, colloidal anhydrous silica, titanium dioxide (E171)
- Cetirizine dihydrochloride (10 mg) as active ingredient
Tips for use
Swallow the tablets with a drink. The recommended dose is 10 mg once a day for adults and adolescents over 12 years old, and 5 mg twice a day for children 6 to 12 years old.
Precautions for use
- Moderate to severe renal impairment: dose reduced to 5 mg once daily
- Epilepsy or risk of seizures: consult a doctor
- Allergic skin test: stop the medication 3 days before
- Interaction with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Avoid use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Warnings
- Drowsiness: carefully assess response to treatment
- Driving and using machines: no impairment of alertness, but carefully assess response to treatment
Adverse effects
Common: fatigue, dry mouth, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness. Uncommon: abdominal pain, restlessness, pruritus, rash. Rare: tachycardia, edema, allergic reactions, liver function abnormalities.
