Virbac Effitix Spot-On is an external antiparasitic treatment for dogs weighing 40 to 60 kg, presented in the form of pipettes of 4 pieces. This product is intended to combat infestations of fleas, ticks, sandflies and mosquitoes.

Properties

Fipronil and Permethrin are the active ingredients in this product, acting on chloride and sodium channels to block the transfer of ions and cause the death of parasites.

Instructions

This product is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea, tick, sandfly and mosquito infestations in dogs weighing 40 to 60 kg.

Administration mode

The recommended dosage is 6.7 mg of fipronil per kg of body weight and 60 mg of permethrin per kg of body weight. The product is applied directly to the dog’s skin, in 2 to 4 points along the back, depending on the weight of the animal.

Precautions for use

It is important to weigh animals accurately before treatment and to avoid contact of the contents of the pipette with the eyes or mouth of the treated dogs. The product is extremely toxic to cats and can be lethal.

Adverse effects

Transient skin reactions at the application site, transient behavioral changes and vomiting have been reported after use.
